It was so easy to splice the wires on my trailer. I used a propane torct being careful to let it heat the shrink wrap and not burn it. When it was done, the connection was perfect! Just strip a little, and I mean very little, wire. Push the two wires together from each end letting them overlap in the middle where the solder is. Heat and hold. You are done.
I have never used this connector design before and found that it is so much easier than manually applying solder. Used a heat gun on a test connection and it uniformly melted the solder, adhesive and tubing. I took it one step further and ran a continuity check with with the joint under water and no increase in resistance at all. Great design
I used to extend wires on a Home Theater System. It is far superior to the traditional crimp butt joint. I used a heat gun to seal joint.
These connectors are great. I've done a lot of splicing in my life and I wish I had these before. They make splicing so quick and clean.
I bought these solder seal connectors for redoing the wiring on my car hauling trailer.
The ease of being able to solder each connection, along with sealing them from moisture in one step, is a tremendous time saver.
I used a heat gun on high setting and just made sure it didnt heat in one spot for long periods, and they quickly create a strong secure connection. I bought this 50 piece set, and used all the blue connectors doing the 14 gauge wiring connections on my trailer. You wont be disappointed with them!
